I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
